Niqaab: A Seal on the Debate
By: Kamillah Khan
ISBN: 978-983-43614-0-2
RM 17.00 |
Sister Kamillah
is an American who embraced Islam 30 years ago. She was born and raised
in Michigan USA in a Christian household with many of her relatives
being Southern Baptist Ministers from a region known as the ‘Bible Belt’
in North Carolina. Her mother dedicated her to the Church from an early
age and it came to no surprise that she wanted to spread the word of
God. However there was one problem- she didn’t believe in the trinity.
After realising she was not a Christian she began her journey in search
of pure monotheism with Allah guiding her to Islam.
She spent her years
studying Hadeeth, striving to understand the statements and actions of
Prophet Muhammad whom Allah sent to explain the Qur’an. More recently
she has spent several years bringing the various texts within the
different books of Hadeeth together, promoting the practice of looking
at the collective evidences.
Although she has spent many years
writing articles to clarify the Sunna she has recently attracted
attention through her writings in the online magazine for Muslim women
entitled
www.todaysmuslimah.com.
This magazine has spread to over 35 countries worldwide and she is
currently the Chief Editor of its Islamic Section.
This book, ‘The Niqaab! A seal on the debate’ is an example where the
author has brought together the collective evidences from the various
books of Hadeeth in discussing the dress code of the Muslimah. The book
explains the meaning of the words Khimaar, Jilbaab, Hijaab and Niqaab
and describes their various attributes after teasing them out from the
ambiguous word veil which they have all been translated to in the
English language. The book also clarifies the differences in dress code
between the wives of the Prophet and the Muslim women in general and
explains how incorrect rulings and opinions have been promoted. The
author has shown the true position of the Niqaab in Islam, proving
beyond doubt that it is not obligatory, and instead describing in rich
detail the true obligatory dress code of the Muslimah. By bringing forth
the collective evidences from the various books of Hadeeth the author
has essentially placed a seal and stamp on the debate regarding the
Niqaab.

A small cross section of
Muslims believe that every person has the ability to ask directly
from Allah and that an intermediary is not required
to intercede with Allah on their behalf. Using evidence from the
Holy Quran and the Hadith this book explains the Truth relating
to who are eligible to ask Allah directly and also
sets out to identify those persons that Allah himself has given
permission to intercede.
Learned scholars at Al Azhar University
Cairo have reviewed the material in this book and this institution
has given its approval to the contents of this book. To quote
an excerpt from their approval “…. we would like to inform that the
above mentioned book does
not carry anything to contradict with the Islamic creed and there is no objection to publish the book”
The
inspiration for this book came from two questions that were put to a
Fakir who was giving a
discourse to a group of people. A man
in the group asked the Fakir

Fundamentals of Islam:
Khutubah New Rivised Edition
By Abul A'la Mawdudi
Pgs. 303, P/B,
ISBN 978-983-43614-2-6
RM 35.00 |
Fundamentals of Islam is a revised
English edition of the critically acclaimed Khutubah (originally written in
Urdu). It consist of Friday congregational addresses, in them he expounds
familiar themes; like Iman, Islam, the Prayer, Fasting, Alms-giving, Pilgrimage
and Jihad.
Mawdudi passion for Islam and the Ummah
is clearly present in these addresses, which are beautiful and eloquent spoken,
powerfully and passionately reasoned and yet simple and lucid in style; he
imparts to these very teachings, the life and revolutionary ardour which they
had when originally proclaimed and instituted. This he does mainly by restoring
the vital links between them which, unfortunately, have long since been lost in
Muslim minds and lives – links like, life and Iman, Iman and actions, Jihad and
Iman, Iman and history. In his discourse, Iman is placed at the centre of life,
so it can regain its power to change man and his world.
These addresses, which were originally
delivered more than four decades ago from 1938 to 1939, is still relevant and
vital. It has been meeting the real and great spiritual and cultural guidance
needed by Muslims; and despite the passage of time, retains its original
freshness. This edition restores Mawdudi’s message with his original charm and
vigour to a new generation of Muslims.
